Solayer SIP-1, our first on-chain governance proposal, has passed with broad support of 182 voters voting for 99.98% YES since concluding our voting period on Aug 5, 2025.
SIP-1 is our governance proposal that sets InfiniSVM’s Proof-of-Stake inflation to launch at 8%, decrease 15% year-over-year, and stabilize at a 2% floor. Rewards are paid each epoch to validators and delegators.
What Passed
SIP-1 programs a predictable, tapering inflation model to bootstrap security early and converge to “sound-money” issuance:
Initial Inflation: 8% annualized
Annual Disinflation: rate × 0.85 (-15% per year)
Floor: 2% annualized once reached
Distribution: 100% of issuance to validators and delegators, paid each epoch
Why This Matters
Security & Participation: High early rewards help attract and retain a robust verifier set.
Predictability: A transparent curve that stakeholders can model and plan around.
Long-Term Sustainability: A 2% steady-state protects holders from ongoing dilution while maintaining incentives.
What Next?
Inflationary rewards will not begin immediately. SIP-1 activates at the first epoch after mainnet and staking go live. Until then, no LAYER inflation is emitted. The core team will prepare the implementation and propose a follow-up parameter activation once infrastructure is ready.
